Sunstein and the Clean Air Act

December 11, 2014

Sunstein and the Clean Air ActCass Sunstein’s Book:  “Simpler:  The Future of Government”

  • Reporter’s Question:  “Are there obstacles in the way of simplifying further?”
  • Cass Sunstein’s Reply:  One big challenge is statutory requirements [i.e., the laws written by Congress]. . . . [S]ometimes efforts to simplify regulations are blocked by legal mandates. That’s a challenge.”

The Clean Air Act is becoming an impediment to further environmental and economic progress, and in Schoenbrod’s succinct grammatically profundity . . . become just plain “stupid” (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUm16NfK7R8).

Time now to approach a win-win solution for Democrats and Republicans–and most importantly America.  Time to simplify the Clean Air Act (see “Clean Air and Climate Change Act of 2014”).  We can make it happen.
