Playing “Small Ball” with the Clean Air Act

June 25, 2014

Babe Ruth and the Clean Air Act

We seem to be in the “dead ball era” of environmental legislation.  And we are apparently content to keep playing “small ball” with the courts and the agency.

Love Babe Ruth.  Love how he changed the game of baseball.  I imagine his thinking was something like this:

“Why keep trying to hit for singles?  These guys keep getting thrown out all the time.  Plus, it’s too much work.  I think I’ll hit it over that fence over there.  . . . Why run when I can walk. ”

Time to stop with the small ball.  Time to try to hit one over the fence.

The world is changing.  We must change with it.  Time to transform the Clean Air Act.  We can make it happen.
