Shocking Revelation About the President’s Climate Change Findings and Ozone

May 12, 2014

President Obama and the Clean Air Act
Shocking.  The President doesn’t seem to have figured this out yet.  EPA doesn’t seem to have figured this out.  No one seems to have figured this out.

See if you can figure it out.

Look at what happens when the President or anyone finds that climate change is increasing ozone:

  • Based on last week’s report, the number of ozone days is expected to increase by 70% by 2050 because of climate change—yet no one will likely be responsible for addressing most of this 70% increase:
  • Section 179B of the Clean Air Act, a very infrequently used and somewhat obscure provision of the Clean Air Act, provides the following:————–“A SIP shall be approved if “the submitting State establishes to the satisfaction of [EPA] that the implementation plan of such State would be adequate to attain [the NAAQS] . . . but for emissions emanating from outside the United States.”  (42 USC § 7509a)
  • If greenhouse gases are increasing ozone, as EPA and others are projecting, and a majority of these greenhouse gases are emanating from outside the United States, then States according to Section 179B would not be required to offset the portion of the climate change penalty caused by a foreign country.

Did you drop your coffee after you read this?  Don’t take my word for this.  Think about it yourself.  As much as you can, please disregard this is coming from me.  Just ask yourself if it’s true.

The President and others are pointing out that climate change is increasing ozone, but they apparently have not realized the damage this causes to the way we currently address pollution under the Clean Air Act.

It’s a “small multi-pollutant world after all”.

The world is changing.  We must change with it.  Time to transform the SIP process.  We can make it happen.
