What’s in this Clean Air Act Reform Effort for us Personally?

January 2, 2014

George MacDonald and the Clean Air ActThis might seem strange, but I think we are already receiving our reward.  When the Clean Air Act is updated and simplified I think it will be a great day for the environment, industry, and our nation—but it will be a sad day for those working to help make it happen.  Satisfaction and growth lies in effort.  And failure seems to be a much fairer friend than success.  Our aspiration, whether we are cognizant of it or not,  seems to me to be made greater than ourselves—to which effort and failure appear to be the better teachers.

—“To be made greater than one’s fellows is the offered reward of hell, and involves no greatness; to be made greater than one’s self, is the divine reward, and involves a real greatness.”—George MacDonald

We’ve got a long way to go, but what a beautiful gift we are being given.
