For at Least One Town . . . Most Ozone Originates from Outside the U.S.

May 16, 2013

Interesting presentation last week from Harvard University entitled “Future directions in tropospheric chemistry – what else besides climate change”.  Harvard used the example below of Gothic, Colorado—showing that most of the ozone measured in this area is apparently originating from foreign countries.

Can’t continue placing the ultimate responsibility on the States to address this problem and protect our children and our nation from the health and economic impacts of foreign pollution (42 U.S.C. § 7407(a)).  Won’t work.  Can’t work.  Our children deserve better.  Our nation deserves better.

The world is changing.  We must change with it.  Time to transform the SIP process.  We can make it happen.
